Spartans take on Swifts in South Challenge QuartersDougie Samuel takes his Spartans side on the road to Perth on Saturday for a Trade Radiators South Challenge Cup quarter final clash against Jeanfield Swifts. The tournament remains the second biggest cup in Scottish Non League football with Spartans having lifted the coveted silverware on three occasions – in 2009, 2010 & 2011. Hosts Jeanfield Swifts, who ply their trade in the East of Scotland Premier League, are the latest challenge for the Ainslie Park side who go in search of lifting the trophy for the first time in a decade. Quoted in the Edinburgh Evening News, gaffer Samuel said, “Jeanfield are flying just now. Playing them at their place is a huge test and one we are super excited to embrace.” This will be the fourth away day this season in the tournament having won on the road at Easthouses Lily in Round 2 then Haddington before an incredible seven goal thriller at home to Syngenta. This meant a trip to Vale of Leven three weeks ago where a 1-3 victory set up a clash against Swifts. Admission prices are: £6 adults £3 concessions Under 16s FREE – Please note, its a 2.30pm KO. Our hosts have also advised that due to an event in the Perth Riverside Church car park tomorrow there is no parking available in the church car park.
