Lowland League Preview | BSC Glasgow v Spartans

Posted on Friday, November 6th, 2020

After a late date change to accommodate their landlord’s Friday night TV appearance, Spartans head to Clackmannanshire on Saturday afternoon to take on third top BSC Glasgow.

A win together with a game in hand over their hosts could see Spartans narrow the gap to as much as two points in what promises, as ever, to be an exciting exchange between the sides.

David Greenhill goes in for a midfield challenge against BSC.

It’s been a frustrating opening month to the campaign something Gaffer Dougie Samuel noted in his interview with the Edinburgh Evening News ahead of the game. He said, “It’s been a disjointed start in terms of team selection which is down to players self isolating, injuries, suspensions and some big decisions having gone against us.”

Those selection challenges see long term treatment table pair Blair Carswell and Ian McFarlane unavailable for the forseeable whilst Dan Baur and Blair Atkinson are unlikely to feature at the Indodrill Stadium.

On-loan keeper Harry Stone impressed during last week’s trip to East Kilbride after signing just 24 hours previous and the teenager will be keen to grab his first clean sheet since returning to the club he played for as a youth.

Kick-off is at 3pm. Due to current Scottish Government restrictions, no supporters are allowed to attend. Our hosts will be offering a live feed – check out their social media channels for details.
