Lowland League Preview | Spartans seek bouncebackability at Kilby

Posted on Friday, October 30th, 2020

New stand-in stopper Harry Stone will be between the sticks for his senior Spartans debut as the side head to K-Park for their latest lockdown showdown in the Lowland League.

After an injury sustained during Tuesday night’s match at Gala, Blair Carswell will take some time out on the treatment table and the former Spartans Youth keeper will take over the gloves during a loan period in place until January.

Following serving their one game suspensions, defending duo Adam Corbett and Mikey Allan are back for selection as is striker Cameron Dawson. Archie Meekison will be keen to make it a habit of finding the net after grabbing goals in the last two outings since his move from Dundee United.

Both clubs have lifted the Lowland League title twice and games between the sides in the competition have largely been tight affairs with four draws out of the 11 meetings thus far. Saturday’s hosts just edge out the head to head by one more victory however it was Spartans who won the last match, a 1-4 victory in the snow in what was to be the final fixture of the Covid curtailed 2019/20 campaign.

Tale of the Tape:

Wins: Spartans: 3, East Kilbride 4, Draws 4

Goals: Spartans 11, East Kilbride 12.

Clean Sheets: Spartans 3, East Kilbride 4

Kick-off is at 3pm. As ever, please do not travel to the game as you won’t get in as fans are still not permitted to attend.
