Lowland League: Donate at the Gate against Dalbeattie and watch for FREE!

Posted on Friday, December 13th, 2019

Spartans welcome Dalbeattie Star to Ainslie Park on Saturday (note, 2pm KO) looking to make it a hat-trick of Lowland League wins on the bounce whilst fans can hopefully spread some cheer off the park as well as on it with our Donate at the Gate Free entry promotion.

For the eighth year in succession, The Spartans FC will open their doors free of charge to football fans across the capital and beyond as they back the Spartans Community Football Academy’s Foodbank Appeal.

Following last week’s drama at Falkirk Stadium which saw Jack Davidson secure a late, injury time dramatic winner where Spartans finished the game with just nine men following Alan Brown and Dean Hoskins both finding themselves in the shower prematurely. Both will be unavailable for selection alongside Aaron Scott however Blair Atkinson returns after shaking off a virus.

The match is also set to see Ian McFarland make his 100th appearance for the Club. Subo is renowned for his no-nonsense, winner takes all approach, plus he was the scorer of an absolute worldy against East Stirling last weekend. Aaron Murrell will also reach a personal milestone, when he clocks up his half century of games during his two spells at Ainslie Park.

This Saturday’s Lowland League fixture will offer FREE entry to supporters who come to the game with provisions to help our Academy’s campaign. With usual admission prices being £7 adults / £4 concessions, a similar foodbank donation would be welcomed, but please simply offer what you can.

The Academy’s appeal closes on Wednesday 18th December. If you can’t make it to the game, items can be handed in to the main office at Ainslie Park or dropped off at our collection station which is near the lift on the 1st floor of the Academy building

Desirable Christmas items include:

Tinned Food (Meat/Fish/Vegetables)

Savoury crackers

Selection boxes

Boxes of chocolates

Snacks and nibbles

Basic toiletries

With your help, the Academy are hoping to surpass their efforts from last year and really make a difference to those who need it most.
