Lowland League | North Edinburgh derby bragging rights at stakeSpartans make the shortest of journeys of the Lowland League campaign when they make the pilgrimage from Pilton to Muirhouse to take on Civil Service Strollers in what is likely to be the match of the day in the Capital. Gary Jardine’s Strollers sit in third spot however there are just two points separating them from Spartans who may be in eighth place but have a game in hand. A win for Dougie Samuel’s men would see them leapfrog their derby hosts, which gives as clear an indication as any just how close and tough this division has become since it’s conception in 2013. Both sides recorded wins last weekend, scoring three goals each in the process too. Defences will therefore need to be on top to see who earns the bragging rights from the first North Edinburgh Derby of the season. Kick-off at Christie Gillies Park is 3pm. Admission: £6 Adults, £3 Concessions, Under 16s Free. Our hosts have advised that the bar opens at 1pm. Please drink responsibly etc etc… |
