GeoSonic Lowland League | Corbett sets sights on Strollers derby showdownThe North Edinburgh Derby. The Passion. The Pride. The bragging rights. Whatever way you pitch it, Saturday’s final league meeting between the sides this season sees Spartans make the short journey to Christie Gillies Park where they face Civil Service Strollers.Dougie Samuel’s side sit six points behind the Strollers in the table but with two games in hand, a win would keep the pressure on as the Lowland League campaign reaches its final furlong stages. Despite their midweek loss to new title winners East Kilbride, the Ainslie Park outfit head into the game with plenty positives to take out of their performance, none more so than Academy Graduate Adam Corbett who wore the coveted Captain’s armband for the first time. The 21 year old defender was in bullish mood ahead of the clash, “We have built up a fair amount of momentum recently and it’s important we keep that going until the end of the season, starting on Saturday against Civil.” The spoils were shared last time out in a 1-1 draw with a late penalty giving Strollers a point after Stephen MacDonald gave his side the lead. Kick off is 3pm. Entry is £6/£3 with U16s free. Tale of the Tape: Spartans: 3 wins |
