Football Nation Cup: Belter of a tie against Tranent under the lights

It’s a Friday Night under the Lights Football Nation Cup Quarter Final for Spartans as they welcome Tranent Juniors to Ainslie Park.

The sides have already met this season – in a pre-season friendly back in July, when Cameron Dawson and Jason Stevens netted in a 0-2 victory.

The East of Scotland Conference B outfit currently occupy a mid-table berth spot and under the stewardship of Max Christie, will be looking to go one better than their fellow EOS counterparts Newtongrange Star who fell at the same venue in the previous round in a closely fought contest.

Dougie Samuel is boosted by the return of Blair Tolmie following his suspension whilst Alan Brown remains on the sideline following his curtailed activity against BSC last week due to an early injury.  There may be an additional name in the Spartans squad ahead of the game too.  All to be revealed on our Social Media channels later…
