GeoSonic Lowland League: Spartans out to make their presence felt in Christmas clash

Posted on Friday, December 21st, 2018

After a weather related enforced break, Spartans get back to action on Saturday where they welcome Gretna to Ainslie Park in what promises to be a GeoSonic Lowland League Christmas cracker.

Without a fixture last Saturday, the players were on hand to take part in the Spartans Youth section’s sessions with the kids before a midweek bounce game against Musselburgh to keep those legs ticking over.

It’s a six match unbeaten run for Dougie Samuel’s side in all competitions and he will be looking to the likes of Blair Atkinson to keep their rich vein of form to continue at the top end of the pitch whilst his namesake Carswell looks to make it back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this campaign.  Back in contention for a spot in the squad is Scott Maxwell who returns from Paternity Leave – congrats to the Maxwell Household.

The visitors head to the Capital following a confidence boosting 1-5 win last week on the road against EduSport Academy, a welcome recovery for the Raydale Park side following their 0-6 reversal some seven days previous at home to our opponents next week, Civil Service Strollers.

Kick-0ff is at 3pm.  Admission £7 Adults, £4 Concessions and Under 16s are Free.  Half Price admission to all SFPL season ticket holders on production of your ticket at the gate.
