Geo Sonic Lowland League: Spartans out to keep Welfare reform plans on hold

Posted on Friday, September 7th, 2018

Spartans welcome old ‘fri-enemies’ Whitehill Welfare to Ainslie Park on Saturday in another must win encounter for the reigning Champions.

With Selkirk’s fate sealed, Welfare find themselves in the unwanted position of occupying 15th place however the Rosewell side will be boosted by their 3-0 win last week at home against Dalbeattie Star and will head to North Edinburgh with renewed vigour.

Scott Maxwell is back in the home squad however there will be a late fitness test for David Greenhill.  Meanwhile, young striker Harry Girdwood has joined near neighbours Craigroyston on loan until Christmas to maximise game time.

Kick-off on Saturday is 3pm.  Admission: Adults £7, Concessions £4 with Under 16s Free Entry.  With Hibs and Hearts not in action, what better way to save sitting on the sofa or going to the Garden Centre than a trip to watch affordable football!
