Lowland League: Momentum with Spartans ahead of Vale visit

Posted on Monday, October 2nd, 2017

Spartans and Vale of Leithen will look horn for the second time in just over a week on Tuesday night when they go head to head in the Lowland League at Ainslie Park.

Just eleven days ago the sides locked horns in Scottish Cup combat, with Dougie Samuel’s men setting up a second round tie against Clachnacuddin with a 3-0 victory under the Friday night lights.

Ex-Spartan Chris Anderson, the Vale Player/Manager will be keen avoid a similar outcome whilst a win for Samuel’s side would take his charges just one point behind leaders BSC Glasgow.

Despite the heavy paddock at the weekend, everyone came through the win over Selkirk unscathed.  A fit Michael Herd and Scott Maxwell are both back in contention for places, offering the Gaffer a tough selection call whilst Willie Bremner remains on the treatment table.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm.  Admission prices: £7 Adults / £4 Concessions, Under 16s Free.  Don’t forget that you can win even if your team doesn’t by buying a raffle ticket from Brian at the gate!
