Pre-Season: Brora come to the Burgh in final friendly action

Posted on Friday, July 21st, 2017

Spartans welcome Brora Rangers to Ainslie Park on Saturday for the final pre-season match for both sides ahead of their respective domestic league campaign kick-offs next weekend.

The sides will certainly be evenly matched with both outfits looking to be in the mix come the end of the season, the pair having finished third in their quest to reach SFPL 2.  One area the Spartans defence will need to focus on is preventing the Brora boys from finding the net.  The Cattachs now how to attack, having scored 116 times in 34 league games in the 2016/17 season.

Dougie Samuel will be keen to build on a run of pre-season victories, the last coming on Tuesday evening when the team hit four past Craigroyston Juniors in a 4-1 victory that saw Blair Atkinson score his fourth in as many games.

The gaffer will be hoping to field a couple of new signings in the game, subject to the ink drying on the paperwork.  We’ll bring you more news of that when it comes!

Kick-off is at 3pm.  Admission £5 adults, £3 concessions with Under 16s getting to watch what promises to be a tough challenge, absolutely free.  Meanwhile, we are delighted to see the uptake in our Season Ticket sales already.  Priced at just £70 for adults (Concessions half price, including any SPFL fan who produces their own team’s brief at time of purchase), this ensures we continue to make football affordable for all at Ainslie Park.
