Lowland League: Herd returns as Spartans look to rein in Colts

Posted on Tuesday, August 30th, 2016

It’s second v third in the midweek Ferrari Packaging Lowland League fixture at Ainslie Park as Spartans welcome Cumbernauld Colts to the Capital.

Both sides had to come from behind at the weekend to maintain their places in the top end of the table making Wednesday night’s clash a mouth watering contest to look forward to.

Along with league leaders East Kilbride and 6th place East Stirlingshire, Spartans head into the game seeking to build on a positive start to the season, currently unbeaten in their opening games.

Manager Dougie Samuel has Michael Herd back in the squad after illness curtailed his possible return at the weekend, with Chris Townsley also back in contention for a starting spot. Dan Ward continues to make good progress on the treatment table, which, thankfully, he has all to himself.

The match kicks-off at 7.45pm. Admission £5 adults, £3 concessions, Under 16s Free. Don’t forget, if you are a season ticket holder of one of the SFPL clubs, you can get a half-price Spartans season ticket too. Bring your brief along and get access to all our Lowland League and Under 20s games for just £25.
