It’s a Knockout! Under 20s in Monday Night Semi Final action

Under 20 League Leaders Spartans set out to reach their second Cup Final of the season at Ainslie Park tonight (Monday) when they take on Preston Athletic in the Knockout Cup, Semi-Final (7.45pm).

It’s been a share of the spoils in terms of league encounters, with the visitors out-muscling the embryonic Spartans side in the second game of the season at the same venue whilst in the corresponding fixture in November, Les Atkinson’s more streetwise side beat the Panners on their home patch, with Dylan Tait netting a hat-trick in a 3-4 victory.

Seven days ago, Atkinson’s youngsters beat Cumbernauld Colts over two legs to reach the final of the Challenge Cup and the Gaffer is keen to have a second shot at silverware against the East Lothian side who are also in contention for the title which will go down to the wire.

The winners will play Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale or Edusport Academy who lock horns on Tuesday night.
