Spartans get back to Ferrari action against Fairydean

Posted on Friday, April 1st, 2016

The weather won’t have cause to make it another idle Saturday for Spartans as Gala Fairydean Rovers head to the Capital for the latest Ferrari Packaging Lowland League encounter.

With games against Dalbeattie Star and Vale of Leithen falling foul to the inclement conditions over the last seven days, it’s the trusty synthetic surface of Ainslie Park that will see the sides get game time.

When the sides met last time out, a Dean Horribine hat-trick helped guide Spartans to a 2-6 victory on the Borders’ outfit’s Sponsors Day where, pre-match, they outlined their bold and ambitious plans for progressing football in the area, of which we wish them success.

The treatment table is a bit lighter this week as Mikey Bruce and Scott Maxwell chap on the gaffer’s door for inclusion in the squad after their recovery from injury which has included time in the EOS side.  One player who will be missing out though is Eddie Malone who limped off with a knee knock in the final stages of last Saturday’s East of Scotland win over Lothian.

The match kicks-off at 3pm.  Admission £5 adults, £3 concessions and Under 16s are free.  Affordable football for all in North Edinburgh.
