Sammy looking for Border control as passport to victory against ValeAn early Saturday morning pitch inspection shall determine whether Spartans will make the trip to Innerleithen to take on Mickey Lawson’s Vale of Leithen in the latest round of Ferrari Packaging Lowland League games. The inclement weather has caused carnage in and around the Borders over recent weeks and any respite from the rain is a bonus for the Victoria Park surface which Lawson describes in his blog as “…heavy, very heavy all over the place.” After last week’s rather bizarre Edinburgh Derby encounter, Spartans will be determined to bounce back against the side managed by the former Ainslie Park boss. For Dougie Samuel, it will be a reshuffle of the pack that Paul Daniels would be proud of, with suspensions and injury continuing to hamper team selection. The match at Victoria Park is scheduled for the slightly earlier kick-off of 2pm. Stay tuned to our Twitter (@spartansfc) & Facebook page for any updates. |
