Preview: Spartans welcome Selkirk on Donate at the Gate Day.

Posted on Friday, December 11th, 2015

Spartans are opening their doors against Selkirk on Saturday to fans free of charge in return for donations towards the Academy’s Charity Foundation Food Bank appeal.

There will be plenty food for thought on the pitch too, as Spartans welcome Garry O’Connor’s side to the capital looking to avenge the last minute loss amidst the midgies in the Borders back at the beginning of the season.  It was O’Connor’s tap in from close range that saw the Yarrow Park outfit grab an unlikely win in a game that saw five goals in a pulsating second half of football.

Last week’s wind affected wipe out ensures Dougie Samuel has no additional injuries to contend with in a busier than preferred treatment room however he will be boosted by the seven goal display against Preston Athletic last time out, which included Conner Duthie netting his first goals since his load move from Hibs.

A win on Saturday – and depending on results elsewhere, could see Spartans move into second spot behind leaders Edinburgh City who have played two more games than the chasing pack.  Your support on the sidelines is welcomed.

The game kicks off at 3pm.  Admission Prices: £5 Adults, £3 Concessions – or simply ‘Donate at the Gate’!
