Back-to-back wins gives Tomassi belief ahead of derby v LeithIt’s the Central Taxis East of Scotland League’s Match of the Day on Saturday when Colin Tomassi’s side take on Leith Athletic at Ainslie Park (3pm KO).Spartans head into the local derby buoyed by back-t0-back wins against Eyemouth and Burntisland whilst the visitors make the short trip across town looking to extend their eight match unbeaten start to the campaign. It will be the toughest test for Tomassi so far this season however the gaffer, in his first season at the helm, knows his side will need to bring their ‘A-game’ to the table come kick-off. “I’m looking forward to game on Saturday and it will be a big challenge for us as Leith are clearly showing to be the best team in the EOS at this time. “We have also started reasonably well but the players are aware we have to be at our very best to get a result. Again we are a few players short and will have to rely on our young players and support from the u/20s squad. “It will be a great learning curve and I hope all the players do themselves justice and show that they can compete at the top end of the table.” With a full South Challenge Cup Round 1 fixture card, there’s only one other game in the EOS League where Civil Service Strollers take on Stirling University.
