Spartans out to combat Ranger danger as Cove head for the Capital

Posted on Thursday, July 16th, 2015

Spartans face their second Highland League test in seven days when they welcome Cove Rangers to the Capital in Saturday’s pre-season encounter.

After a two-nil reversal at home to Huntly last weekend, gaffer Dougie Samuel will be keen to recover the fine form that saw wins against Duns and Brechin at the start of the pre-season programme.

There will no doubt be Ranger danger from a Cove side who finished 3rd in last season’s Highland League, including an impressive unbeaten league run dating back to February.

This season the visitors will do their bit for Scottish Football trivia by entering into a ground-share agreement with no fewer than four clubs in the shape of Banks O’ Dee JFC, Formartine United FC, Inverurie Loco Works FC and Keith FC to host their home games.

The match kicks-off at 3pm.  Saturday’s admission prices are: Adults £5, Concessions £3, Under 16s FREE.

You can also use your Season Ticket on Saturday.  Either pick on up at the gate, or order one online.  Our commitment is to ensure we offer affordable football for all and we’ve frozen our prices for a record 11th season in a row.
