News from the big chair: All change at East of Scotland side as Cunningham moves on

Posted on Monday, June 15th, 2015

After making his announcement at the end of season Awards evening, Alex Cunningham has made the short distance move across the North of the Capital to pursue a new coaching challenge with Civil Service Strollers.

Chairman Craig Graham is just back from holiday and picked up the news while he was away.

“Obviously I was disappointed when I heard about Alex’s decision to move on.  Alex has been coaching at Spartans for over 10 years and did a great job.

“He was an excellent manager who was especially good at getting the right balance between player development and being successful on the pitch, and equally strong with both Youth teams and Adult teams.  He was also a great club man who turned his hand to any job needing done from picking up Gordon Strachan up from Celtic Park to being the liaison guy for Manchester United.

“We will certainly miss him however he’s going to another good club who will also be able to benefit from his skills and experience.

“We will be announcing our new EoS team manager very soon.”
