Spartans set for another strong test from Kingy’s men from the WestSpartans welcome BSC Glasgow to Ainslie Park on Saturday as East v West collide for the second time in just three weeks.A tight affair in December saw Spartans edge out one of this year’s Lowland League new recruits by the odd goal in three in a game that ebbed and flowed for the duration. With the weather gods forcing the cancellation of last Saturday’s game at Innerleithen, Spartans boss Dougie Samuel ensured game time was had in midweek with a closed door friendly against the Blue Brazil of Cowdenbeath, with Errol Douglas grabbing a brace in a 2-1 win. A useful exercise for all ahead of the visit from Kingy and Co. Samuel is once again faced with logistical challenges and faces making a squad selection minus a quartet of first team regulars in the shape of Kevin Sivewright, Mikey Bruce and Mikey Herd through injury, whilst Kevin Motion is unavailable. On a more positive note, Paul-Jon Sludden is in line for his first outing in a Spartans jersey and Willie Bremner has recovered from illness and throws his hat in the ring for a place in the squad. Kick-Off is 3pm. Admission: Adults £5, Concessions £2, U/16’s Free.
