Chris Calls Time to Focus on Coaching

Posted on Friday, June 6th, 2014

We told you last week that Danny Main is leaving the club for an opportunity in Dubai. Another player who will be leaving the Lowland League side for his career is Chris Anderson, however the Striker is stepping back from playing to focus on a career which is much closer to home.

“After a long chat with Sammy I have decided to step back from playing to focus on developing as a coach . It’s huge passion of mine and I feel the time is right to make that transition. I’ve just recently launched my coaching business, CG Elite coaching, which delivers a variety of sports to schools across the borders and works closely with local clubs. The extra time away from playing will able me to complete further coaching badges and study different areas of coaching throughout different sports. ”

Chris has been with the club since he made the move from Gala Fairydean in the summer of 2010 and has chipped in with 22 goals during his 92 appearances. During that time Chris has seen a lot of success, however he looks on last season as his career highlight

“Winning the title last year made all the hard work and difficult times worth while . To see everyone’s hard work pay off was fantastic and I was grateful to play a part in that journey. I have met some amazing people here on and off the park and have learned a great deal from working with Sammy who I see as a great mentor for me . I have also played alongside some great players along the way.”

We hope to see Chris back at Ainslie Park to cheer on the team next season.
