Iain Thomson Comes Home

Posted on Sunday, June 1st, 2014

Iain Thomson has become the latest player to sign up during the summer as the midfielder returns to Spartans from East Stirlingshire.

32 year old Thomson played for us over 3 seasons, 03/04 to 05/06 and featured in both of our Scottish Cup runs which resulted in us making it to the last 16 of the competition.

Iain left us for Berwick Rangers before making a move to Stenhousemuir. He was a regular for the Warriors for several season before moving to East Stirlingshire.

Chairman Craig Graham is pleased to see an old friend return.
“I’m delighted to welcome Iain back, we always thought he would come back at some point. We are very pleased that he does so when he is only 32 and has many years still ahead of him. His leadership qualities and experience are exactly what we need going into the new season.”

The players are now all on holiday until pre-season in early July, however the excitement is already building at the club with the announcement of our pre-season schedule last week and the draw for the Ramsdens Cup 1st round due in June.
