Title deeds done, now lets Get The Sparty Started!

Spartans welcome Dalbeattie Star for the final home match of the season ahead of lifting the inaugural Scottish Sun Lowland League trophy.

Former Scotland, Manchester United, Hibs and Hearts star Michael Stewart will present Dougie Samuel’s side with the silverware post-match in front of the Spartan Army faithful.

With 180 minutes left to play in a season that began in earnest last July, it has been a fantastic first year for the Lowland League competition.  Every team has contributed significantly towards a spectacle that has enhanced the image and some people’s perceptions of non-league football.

For Spartans, winning the league at the first time of asking was the Club’s ultimate aim and lead by Captain Kevin Sivewright, the team has secured the title with 2 games to spare.

The sides faced each other at the same venue two weeks ago, with the visitors securing a 3-2 win in the semi-final of the South Challenge Cup and Spartans will be keen to put that right with a winning display in front of what promises to be a large vocal home crowd.

The match kicks-off at 3pm with a large crowd anticipated for this historic day in Scottish Football.  Therefore, please make sure you arrive at Ainslie Park early as we Get The Sparty Started!

Be there, be part of it and lets #GetThePartyStarted.  Interact with us online using the hashtag via our Twitter account at @spartansfc for the build-up, live match updates and post-match reaction.
