Eyes down at Ainslie Park for Spartans’ big Bingo challengeSpartans look at getting back to winning ways as they entertain Preston Athletic at Ainslie Park in another pulsating Scottish Sun Lowland League clash. The re-arranged fixture sees the sides lock horns twice in a month, with Dougie Samuel’s side keen to avenge the 2-1 reversal at Pennypit in September. The visitors have had a rollercoaster of results since, taking SPFL 2 side Queen’s Park to a Scottish Cup replay before losing out narrowly at home. Last week, the Pans people had what can only be described as a bad day at the office, shipping nine goals in a 2-9 loss to Whitehill Welfare. Therefore, Spartans will need to be on their guard as David Bingham’s Preston outfit look to bounce back from a result that was as surprising as it was sensational. In what’s been quite a spectacular inaugural season of Lowland League football, seventh place Preston see themselves just 5 points off the top spot and a win on Saturday would see them back in the action at the business end. For the hosts, the Gaffer Dougie Samuel once again has his selection troubles to seek. After a late double sending off last week in the 2-2 draw at Dalbeattie, John Grant and Robbie Ross are both suspended, whilst Sean Muhsin (injured), plus Mark Whatley and Donal Henretty are all equally unavailable. On the plus side, Alan Brown is once again fully fit and Alistair McKinnon and Danny O’Donnell are both back after missing last week. Kick-off at 3pm. Admission: £5 Adults, £3 Concessions & U/12s FREE! It’s getting a wee bit Berti Auld with the clocks set to go back on Sunday morning – so wrap up at the game in style. You can buy Spartans hats and scarves in the Café along with other quality club merchandise! Ask for Janette at the Bar. In the only other Scottish Sun Lowland League game, Edinburgh City welcome Whitehill Welfare to the Commonwealth Stadium |
