In for a Pennypit, In for Five PoundThe Scottish Sun Lowland League side travel the short distance to The Pennypit to play Preston Athletic this Saturday. Sitting 6th in the league the Prestonpans side have had a good start to the season which saw them on a run of 4 league wins in a row before last weekend’s defeat away to East Kilbride where the Panners had to play more than half the game with 10 men!The East Lothian are already on their way to Hampden as they face SPFL League Two side Queen’s Park at the National Stadium next weekend following their very impressive 4-3 victory at Highland League side Huntly in the 1st round of the William Hill Scottish Cup. Spartans Assistant Manager Gary Smith will take charge of the team this weekend, he will be assisted by Coach Neil MacCuish as they aim to extended the lead at the top of the Lowland League. Gary commented “We’re looking forward to what we expect to be a hard fought, physical game but are hoping to maintain our recent good run.” Manager Dougie Samuel, added “Tomorrow’s game represetns another tough test on the road. Perston have been on a great run prior to last weeks defeat. Fur us it’s about trying to build on our best team performance of the season at Gretna.” Donal Henretty misses out this week while Sean muhsin and Jack Beacher remain on the injury list. Alan Brown faces a late fitness test however Gary Cennerazzo returns to the squad. The game kicks off at 3pm .and entrance is £5/£2 In the other fixtures taking place this weekend, the EOS side travel along Ferry Road to play Craigroyston in the East of Scotland Premier Division, kick off is at 2.30pm. The Saturday Amateurs play away to Glenrothes in the 1st Round of the Amatuer Scottish Cup. The under 19s return to league action at home against Peebles Rovers at 3pm on Sunday following their spirited 6-1 defeat against a highly experienced Hearts team in the Scottish Youth Cup. The Women’s team are away to Rangers on Sunday in the league, the game kicks off at 2pm at Petershill park, Glasgow |
