Weekend RoundupThe Senior side lost out in our first ever match against East Kilbride at K-Park. Martyn McLaughlin poked home a corner in the 87th minute to secure the points. We had several chances to score, Jack Beesely hit the bar after just four minutes, Cloudie hit the bar even harder mid way through the second half while Robbie Ross was unfortunate to have his strike from 6 yard out saved by Meldrum in thhe East Kilbride goal. We’d like to thank the East Kilbride board for their hospitality. We all enjoyed the trip through and we were well looked after. The East of Scotland side fought back from 2 – 0 down with two goals in the last ten minutes to draw 2 – 2 with Leith Athletic in our first league match. Chris O’Day our recent signing from Westerlands and Davy Stewart scored the goals. Chris was at Glasgow Uni and has played for the Scotland Amateur team. In a remarkable league game our Amateur team went down 7 – 5 to league leaders Heriot Vale. Our goals were scored by Jamie Campbell, Dave Campbell, Andy Howat, Iain Cartwright and an OG. Our EoS 19s started their league campaign with a 1 – 0 defeat to a strong Tynecastle XI. We played well in blustery conditions but Tynecastle scored the only goal. Finally our Womens 1st XI had a great 3 – 2 win over second placed Hibs. Two goals from Lana Clelland and a great header from Laura Montgomery. Next week sees an extremely tough home Scottish Cup tie against Glasgow City. |
