Opening Lowland League fixture sees Robbie return to Meadowbank…

Hitman Robbie Ross will return to Meadowbank to face his old club in the opening fixture of the new Lowland League.

Ross, who grabbed a brace in Saturday’s 4-2 win v Threave Rovers, is one of several summer signings who will be looking to get the new campaign off to a winning start.

Our first game at Ainslie Park will be on Tuesday 13th August when we welcome Vale of Leithen.

Next up are the Students from Stirling University who travel to the Academy on the 17th then we are on the road to Selkirk for a midweek encounter on Wednesday August 21st.

There will also be a League Cup competition which will be played mid season and run on a regional format. The groups are as follows:-

1 Gretna 2008, Threave Rovers, Dalbeattie Star, East Kilbride

2 Edinburgh City, Spartans, Stirling University, Whitehill Welfare

3 Gala Fairydean Rovers, Preston Athletic, Selkirk and Vale of Leithen.
