Bennett boost ahead of Lowland League campaign

In between the sticks during Tuesday night’s pre-season opener v Forfar was one of our new summer signings, Scott Bennett. 

Bennett, 30, brings with him a wealth of experience and joins from Junior Super League side St Andrews United where he has plied his trade over the last two seasons.

The 6ft Aussie was at Edinburgh University before joining Stenhousemuir.  His sudden death penalty shoot-out save v Cowdenbeath in 2009 that earned his side promotion to the 2nd division and saw him gain cult status overnight.

Following his spell at Ochilview, he joined Montrose and played 8 SFL games, including an emphatic 8-1 win v Clyde.
