Honours evenBoth the Seniors and Juniors drew our league games today.Vale started off brightly and missed a couple f chances before we took the lead. A long throw from Mark Whatley saw a push on Donal Henretty and Jack Beesley scored from the spot. We had more of the ball with Jack coming close with a free kick and then Mark hitting the ‘keeper when straight through. From the ‘keepers block Vale broke down the right and after the cross was blocked Ex Spartan Danny Noon equalised. We had a great chance to take the lead on the half time whistle when Jordan Finnie was through but chipped the ball wide. We had most of the play in the second half but created few clear cut chances. Both ‘keepers had good saves and Vale had a great shout for a penalty but the ref booked their striker for diving. Noon disputed the ref’s decision and saw red. There was eight minutes last and we flooded forward. Jack had a great run but his cut back was blocked by the ‘keeper then Andy Martin seemed to be pulled back when straight through but the referee waved play on. A draw was a fair result on the day. Donal won the man of the match with an aggressive performance despite being n the receiving end of a number of tough challenges. Team: Flockhart, O’Donnel (Wringe 75), Cannazero, Sivewright, McCuish, Beesley, Anderson (Grant 64), Henretty, Finnie (Martin 64), Manson, Whatley Subs not used Irvine, Gilpin The Juniors equalised in the final minute to rescue a point at home to Harthill.
