Management thoughts on our return to action against Lothian

Mike says –

“The pre match team talk was about our attitude rather than our ability and Sam and I thought our attitude was spot on yesterday. We started on the front foot and took the game to a good Lothian side who have two or three really promising players. Raymond Carr’s boys never gave up and it’s a testimony to their endeavours that Sam and I had to change formation and tighten up in the spell after their goal when they put us under real pressure. We rode the storm and could have scored one or two more before the final whistle.

Dean Hoskins misses the next two games so introducing Scott Fusco at left back during the second half was always on the cards. John Grant and Chis Anderson also came off the bench and played well. It shows the quality Sam and I have at our disposal that Jordan Finnie and Jonathan Seeley weren’t used and sitting beside them on the bench near the end was Jack Beesley who was a  regular in the team before his injury.

We now look forward to a visit from Stirling University next Saturday in what should be a cracking game. I saw them beat Gretna in the Alex Jack Cup Final a week ago and I was more than impressed by the students. They will give our boys their biggest examination of the season so far. More on that later in the week.”
