Management thoughts on a worthwhile exercise

Mike says –

Eyemouth gave us a good competitive 90 minutes yesterday which is all we could ask for in our current circumstances. Keith McLeod, John Grant, Omar Kader and Gavin Malin got our goals and John who’s previously been with Alloa and Berwick signed for us after the game (don’t worry we’ll check his registration is in order).  We don’t have the biggest squad in the world with Under 19 player (Jordan Finnie) making the bench for us on a number of occasions. John gives us more experience but we will continue to blood youngsters when suitable.

It was good to see Bert Britton’s family at the game yesterday and it was good to give Bert a 4-0 victory as a send off. Bert was one the many unpaid volunteers every club needs and he’ll be sorely missed.

We now await a decision from the EOS executive on our South of Scotland Challenge Cup participation. In a stop, start season our players have ignored all the distractions and shown remarkable resilience and fortitude.  Next Saturday could be our third inactive match day of the season so far which considering the number of games we general play seems strange. I know our registration problems account for at least two of these but hopefully a fixture change will appear on the East of Scotland website some time today. We seem to spend our time these days waiting on decisions outside our control. “C’est la vie”
