Management thoughts on our last League Cup Section gameMike says –“We must win tomorrow at St Marks Park to have any chance of progressing to the knock-out stages of the League Cup and even then goal difference may come into it. A draw would probably put Craigroyston through and a win would definitely see them in the later stages so it’s all to play for. I saw the home side narrowly defeated on Tuesday by a very good Easthouses team. There is a lot of energy, some experience and no shortage of skill about this Craigroyston side and it should be exciting fair for those who come down to watch. Of the starting eleven on Tuesday, Darren Lockhart and Martin Laidlaw we know well and Ubong Umotong up front looked strong, fast and with a good touch. I could see why he’s the competition’s top scorer so far with six goals. George Bowmaker as a big squad to choose from this season and League Cup aside I expect them to be pushing for promotion come April and May next year. For our part Sam and I will have to check on one or two players today before thinking about a starting eleven. Hopefully Dean Hoskins will have recovered from last Saturday’s knock and at least two others were suffering a bit after Tuesday’s game at Muirhouse. Jonathan Seeley, Chris Smith and Rees Smith are all unavailable tomorrow and with Danny O’Donnell, Keith McLeod, David Etale, Gavin Malin and Stewart Fowlie still absent for one reason or another Sam and I don’t have a big pool to choose from. Having said that Scott Fusco, Ali MacKinnon, Kerr Dodds and Chris Anderson have all settled in really well while Gary Bannon played his part when down to ten men on Tuesday. We know what Jordan Finnie and Andrew Sinclair can bring to the party so despite those missing Sam and I are happy with the players at our disposal. Let’s hope we are happy come Saturday evening.” Mike |
