Seniors reach cup final but Juniors go down

Posted on Saturday, May 21st, 2011

A Chris Smith goal with five minutes to go won our League Cup semi0-final against preston Athletic this afternoon. The first half was poor but we played better as the game progressed and deserved the late winner. Th Malt and Hops man of the match went to Omar Kader who continued to put the big Preston defenders under pressure. Team: Flockhart, O’Donnell, Seeley, Sivewright, Hoskins, Malin, Manson, Kader, Henretty, Smith, Archibald Subs not used: Fowlie, Finnie, Wringe, McGarrie.
The Juniors went down 4 – 2 to Blackburn in our final league game however planning is already well underway for next season. A number of our under 19 squad will step up with a number of experienced players having already signed.
Tomorrow sees two cracking games. Our Women travel to play table topping Glasgow City in a league game with a 2pm ko while our EoS 19s take on Edinburgh City in the final of the Jimmy Lynch Memorial Trophy at the Academy with a 2pm ko.
