Management thoughts on Lothian tomorrow.Mike says –“We’ve had 12 games put off this season and that is a lot of unused programme notes or team talks from yours truly. We were meant to play Lothian a week last Saturday and my notes for that game said that they looked very impressive in their midweek win against The Vale. I went on to say they were in the top half of the league, unbeaten is 6 games and full of confidence. After Saturday’s result I’ll have to amend my notes slightly but they are still in the top half of the league and they still impressed me against The Vale on a night not conducive to silky football. Against Heriot-Watt on Saturday Lothian were without the suspended Jamie Butler and Omar Ali both of whom will return against us. Being short of players at the weekend we have to assume their return will lift the confidence of the team and we expect Lothian to be well up for our league game. Omar Kader is back down in London and Sam and I see the choice to replace him tomorrow between Donal Henretty, David Etale and Danny O’Donnell. Depending on how those carrying knocks or injuries (there are 3 at least in Saturday’s team against The Vale) are feeling tonight we will hopefully only have to make one enforced change. It looks like the weather has finally taken a turn for the better so games will be coming thick and fast. One thing for sure is we’ll need each and every member of our squad before the season is out. I note further fixtures were released last night taking us up to May 7th. There are no mid-week games down for April other than the East of Scotland (City Cup) Final although mid-week league fixtures are to be released this weekend. I hope it’s a very long April as we still have dates for 6 league games outstanding. First things first and Lothian Thistle at Saughton Enclosure tomorrow.” Mike |
