Management thoughts on a Gala day.

Mike says –

“First of all it was great to be back so a big thanks to Colin and everyone who helped get most of the water off the pitch before the kick off. I say most because the referee also deserves a lot of credit for putting the game on. I’m sure a good few referees further up the pecking order would have played it by the book and left both teams kicking their heels for another Saturday.

I like Gala. I like their attitude. They have some exciting young players who never give up and  yesterday they fought until the final whistle. Big Paulo did his Maradona impression early on but they also hit the post and created a good few chances over the 90 minutes.

We played better yesterday than we did in the previous two games against Gala and if the visitors created half a dozen good chances we were well into double figures.  Having not played for 8 weeks we’ll give the players the benefit of the doubt and Sam and I were more that pleased with their fitness levels. One or two looked like they needed a couple of games to get right back into the swing of things but in the main it was an encouraging performance for the start of a new year.

As I say up top, it’s good to be back. ”
