Management thoughts on a long but happy day.

Mike says –

“Boy was I knackered last night on getting home but I’m sure the players (and Sam) were whooping it up long after my head hit the pillow. There will be some tired legs today, that’s for sure after the efforts of all 28 players. The grass hadn’t been cut as the Keith pitch was too heavy and the 94 minutes must have been sapping for all concerned.

The game was tight early on but I think over the piece we thoroughly deserved to win in what was a professional performance by our lot. 3-0 may have flattered us slightly but on overall chances and openings created we deserve to be in the next round. 3 sending off’s makes you think it was a dirty game but I thought there wasn’t one nasty tackle in the entire afternoon. The game was contested in the right spirit and the conditions made for good old fashion cup football.

Keith gave us a game, believe me and I wish Darren and his boys all the best in the remainder of their season.

We must get our feet back down on the ground for the visit of Edinburgh Uni next Saturday as the Scottish Cup goes on the back burner. Alex took a knock, Donal tweaked his hammy and I’m sure we’ll have some more aches and pains to contend with at training on Tuesday.

A big thank you to all who made the long journey up to support us and let’s hope we get a home draw in the next round.”
