Exciting WednesdayThe Seniors have our third cup final in a week when we take on Lothian Thistle in the League Cup final at St Marks Park tomorrow, ko 7pm. There are no injuries to report. After the game the players and coaches will be returning to the Academy to celebrate the end of the season with the odd drink – all supporters are very welcome to join us and take the opportunity to discuss the game and the season with the players.Hopefully the Juniors will be around in a positive frame of mind having played Sauchie in our penultimate league game at City Park, ko there 7.15. Sauchie are just two points behind us in the league and have a game in hand. Struan Preston limped off late in the game last night but Gary Bannon returns to the squad. One other game on tomorrow is the Bill Sheridan Cup final at Under 14s between our Spartans team and Edina Hibs on the stadium pitch at the Academy. We had a good team at 13s last season however a number of players were enticed away by other teams, notably Hutcheson Vale. This left us depleted but we have regrouped and the players have improved tremedously under some great coaching from the two Keiths and Les. Edina are strong favourites but we have done fantastically well to reach a cup final, good luck to the boys. It’s just a pity that the final clashes with the two other games. |
