Mangement thoughts on reaching our second Final.Mike says –“Yesterday it appeared that Heriot-Watt set out to frustrate us and despite comfortably winning 3-0 they accomplished what they set out to do. Dressing rooms are normally bouncing when you win a semi final but yesterday ours was very subdued after the game. Any bouncing taking place was outside on the Monster Truck brought in for the day to entertain Alex King and Chris Smith. Still it was another semi final win and no injury scares for our second semi in four days on Tuesday. Sam and I will change the personnel around a bit for the Edinburgh Uni game because although our fitness levels can handle two 90 minutes in four days there is a fear of mental tiredness playing two such high profile games in such a short space of time. Tuesday is another game and I’ll talk about it tomorrow but it’s fair to say Sammy and his players will pose us different problems to that their student cousins did. For our part we have to forget the misplaced passes and sloppy play which crept into a game we never looked like losing and prepare for a much more fiery encounter. The group of players Sam and I have are as good a squad as we’ve ever had at Spartans and they have a chance of writing their own piece of Spartan’s history this month. If they apply themselves correctly they can do that and I look forward to watching their efforts from the sidelines.” Mike |
