Two good wins but Amateurs go downComfortable 5 – 0 win in the League cup for the Seniors and the Juniors win crucial league game against Blackburn 2 – 1.After being presented with the league championship trophy before the game it took the Seniors some time to settle against the dogged opposition of Ormiston. Ross Archibald eventually broke the deadlock midway throughthe half with a close range header. Ormiston did look dangerous on the break in the seond half but the second came just after the hour mark when Alex King drove home a Dean Hoskins cross. The third came from a great Deano free kick before two goals from Alex in the last two minutes gave him his first Spartans hat trick in his 100th competitive game. The third a tap in after Jorge Vinelli’s drive was partially blocked by the ‘keeper and although the ball would have crossed the line AK drove it home. Alex winning the man of the match performance for being that big sharper than his team mates in a sluggish performance. Team Flockhart, O’Donnel, Fowlie, Gerrard, Hoskins, Kader, Manson (McAuley 64), King, Henretty (Malin 75), McLeod (Vinelli 71), Kader Sub not used: McGarrie The Juniors were a goal behind after a lacklustre first half performance up the slope at half time. In the second half we gave a much improved performance to leap-frog Blackburn into third place. Nick Reid equalised from close range and then veteran Kenny Young capped abgreat performance with the winner.
