Tonight’s action and tomorrowTonight sees the first Old Boys game of the season with Euan Hoy’s team taking on Newcraighall on the FieldTurf pitch at 8pm. Euan’s squad is Evans, Cowie, Lumsden, McKeating, Marsters, Ford, Hoy, Hutton, Mitchell, Samuel, Gowrie, Burnside, McCall, Lawson, Middlemist, Williams.A reminder that the bus to Dumfries for tomorrow’s South Regional Cup quarter final leaves the Academy at 11am sharp. We’ve never played Crichton before and it gives us a chance to see the standards in the South League. The Juniors play Haddington in a league game at the Academy with a 2.30pm ko. David Cowan is looking for revenge after Haddington beat us 2 – 0 in one of his early games, a match where we couldn’t turn possession into goals. Paul Sutherland is still likely to be missing through injury but everyone else if fit. KO is 2.30pm, season tickets are valid for anyone not travelling to Crichton…admission otherwise is £4/£2. The Amateurs take on Edinburgh University at Peffermill in the Challenge Cup at the third attempt after postponements. The Uni are in the league above us so it will be a challenging match but Dave Bryce has a strong squad at his disposal, ko is 2pm. Finaly Clark’s got out of hospital last week after his leg break, a metal pin has been inserted to keep the bones together and he hobbling around on crutches. Finally the three Spartans players Pauline Hammill, Di Barry and Hayley Lauder who were with Scotland playing in the Cyprus Cup have returned home. The team lost 4 – 1 to Holland, 2 – 0 to Italy and 3 – 0 to New Zealand before beating South Africa 2 – 1. Hayley made her debut coming on as a sub against Italy and then scored against South Africa, she did an interview after making her debut for the SFA website.
