U-19

Goalkeepers
Ewan Smart – In his 2nd season with the club, signed from St Johnstone. Good shot stopper.


Defenders
Gavin Cattanach – In his 2nd season with the club, signed from Fernieside BC. Is a versatile defender, but tries to take the leather of the ball when a simple pass will do.  

Gary Hamilton – Club Captain in his 2nd season, dominant centre half, has a great attitude and hates losing.

Andy Bright – Signed this season from Edinburgh United, can play anywhere in the back four.

Ross Bunyan – signed this season from AC Oxgangs, can play a midfield role if required

Russell Johnston – signed this season from AC Oxgangs, versatile defender, but needs to learn to talk more.

Craig Spalding – Dominant centre half who also likes to play football signed from Hutchison Vale


Midfielders
Steven Riordan – has been missing from training for the last 4 weeks, if anyone knows where he is please let me know. A good ball playing midfield player when he turns up.

Matthew Pringle – the workhorse of the midfield, alway liable to chip in with a few goals, has a good attitude and is always trying to improve.

Sean Cadger signed this season from AC Oxgangs, will improve as the season progresses as he is willing to take on board what the coaches are asking him to do.

Craig Pender – Recent signing strong , ball playing midfielder signed from Hibernian FC- making a full recovery after 4 months out with ankle injury, will be a valuable addition to the squad.

Stephen Doohan – left sided player signed from Fernieside BC, works up and down the flanks and has a good attitude.

Paul Hunter – Skillful ball player with plenty of experience signed from Easthouses Lily.

 


Forwards
Steven Philp – In his 2nd season with the club signed from Leith Athletic, a good trainer when he is not working shifts and works really hard during games. Likes to beat a man more than once much to the annoyance of the coaches.
Andrew Sinclair – signed this season from Leith Athletic and good finisher who can score goals with both feet.  His target is to finish top goalscorer this season

Allan Chalmers – signed this season from Easthouses Lily. Very skillful ball player who likes to take defenders on and chips in with a few goals as well. 

Daniel Keane – can play on either flank or in midfield very quick player who will be a useful addition to the squad, recently signed from Fernieside BC.

Jamie Walsh – signed recently from Salvesen BC and in his 2 starts has scored 2 goals.

Management Team

Gary McClelland (Manager) – In his 7th season with the club, looking for more silverware this season to add to the league and cups he has guided the team to in previous years, hates to lose games.

Ian Christie (Coach) – has been around Spartans for many years, in his 2nd season coaching the 19’s has a great attitude and is very positive in his outlook on how the game should be played and tries to get this over to the players.

Douglas Hoskins (Coach/Physio) Uncle Fester is the life and soul of the squad, is always game for a laugh, but takes his football very seriously. I am sure that he lives at the academy as whenever I try to contact him I am told he is out doing something at the academy. has more Spartans gear than any other coach at the club.
