U19s Squad

Goalkeepers

Iain McTurk – Iain is currently in his second spell at the club. He previously captained his Spartans Colts team to two cup final wins and promotion. Since then Iain has played for Hearts and most recently Dunfermline and re-joined Spartans at the beginning of this season.

Clarke Veitch – Clarke is the squad’s longest serving player having played the the club since he was 5. He was involved in Flora’s Soccer School and Inverleith Star before the youth section became part of Spartans FC. Before signing for the 19′s Clarke played for the club’s Saturday amateurs.


Defenders

Daniel Shields (Captain, right back/centre half) – Daniel will captain the squad this season. He returned to Spartans at the beginning of the season for his second spell at the club after two seasons at Alloa Athletic. Daniel captained Spartans under 14′s to glory at the Amsterdam Cup in 2006. He also represented Scotland at boys club level in 2008 and was vice-captain of the squad.

Lewis Hawkins (Centre half/centre mid) – Lewis is in his second season at Spartans having signed from Tynecastle Boys Club where he was captain. He previously played for Rangers before breaking his leg as a youngster.

Scott Noble (Centre half/right back) – Scott has played for Spartans for a number of years. He was a part of the Amsterdam Cup winning squad and he scored the winning goal in the final.

Andy Brown (Centre half) – Andy signed for Spartans at the beginning of the season after a number of seasons with Edinburgh City in the Lothian Buses leagues.

Sean Veitch (Centre half/right back) – Sean is a very versatile and skilful defender. He was also a part of the successful Amsterdam Cup squad in 2006 and has played for Spartans for a number of seasons now.


Midfielders

Callum Donnelly (Centre mid/left mid) – Callum signed for Spartans at the start of this season after a short spell with Livingston. Before playing for Livingston Callum played for St Johnstone, Hibs and Hutchie Vale. Callum has also represented Scotland at boys club level.

Jordan Finnie (Vice-captain, Centre mid/striker) – Jordan is vice-captain of the squad this season. He is part of the first team squad this year and because our games are played on Sundays he will be able to feature for both the 19′s and the first team this season.

Greg Atkinson (Centre mid/right mid) – Greg has played for the club since the age of 5 and was also involved with Flora’s Soccer School and Inverleith Star. He captained his under 14′s side to two cup finals and promotion in the same season. He was also a part of the Amsterdam Cup squad in 2006.

James Cuthbertson (Left mid/striker) – James signed for the East of Scotland 19′s at the start of this season after a season with the Lothian Buses 19′s last year. His first half hat-trick against Dumbarton in the SFA Youth Cup helped us to progress into the 2nd round of the competition.

Isaac Imrie (Centre mid) – Isaac has played at the club for many years now. He is a tough tackling midfielder with a good eye for a pass. He was a key part of the Amsterdam Cup winning side where he scored a vital penalty in the shoot out in the semi final.

Chris Keppie (Right mid/right back) – Keppie is an energetic right sided player, he can play in midfield or in defence. He signed for Spartans 3 years ago and has played fairly regularly ever since.

Paul Henderson (Left mid/left back) – Paul is a skilful player who can play either left back or left midfield. Before joining Spartans Paul has spells at Hibs and Dunfermline. Paul’s delivery from set pieces makes him a very important player in the squad.

Jordan Glennie (right mid) – Jordan signed for Spartans in December 2011 after a spell with Dunfermline Athletic. He has started his time with the club brightly and will look to build upon his good form going into the new year.


Forwards

Sean Ford (Striker/right back) – Sean Ford is a strong, versatile striker who has more recently found himself playing in defence. Before signing for Spartans Sean had spells at Raith Rovers and Dunfermline and signed for the club in 2010.

Alan Clark (Striker) – Alan signed for Spartans at the start of this season. Before playing for Spartans he spent time at Livingston where he was part of the SFL Youth Cup winning side. He also spent time at Hutchie Vale. Alan also represented Scotland at boys club level in 2008.

Haydn Crane (Striker) – Haydn joined the club from Stirling Albion FC in December 2011. He previously enjoyed spells at Hutchison Vale and Bonnyrigg before signing for the SFL side at the start of the current season. In Haydn’s time  at Hutchie he represented Scotland at boys club level.

Lee Brown (Striker) – Lee signed for Spartans in December 2011 and has started well, scoring in both games he played before the festive break. He was previously with Berwick Rangers FC before joining the club.


Management Team

Chris Anderson (Manager) – Chris was previously 19s coach at Gala Fairydean where he also played for their 1st team. He now takes up a similar role with the first team at Spartans.

Keith Boyes (Assistant Manager) – Boyesie was in a coaching role with our under 15′s last season but has now stepped up to help Chris with the 19′s. Keith also plays for the Juniors.

Douglas Hoskins (Coach/Physio) – Uncle Fester is the life and soul of the squad, is always game for a laugh, but takes his football very seriously. I am sure that he lives at the academy as whenever I try to contact him I am told he is out doing something at the academy. He has more Spartans gear than any other coach at the club.
