Spartans unveil new Youth Ambassador player link-up initiative

Posted on Monday, November 21st, 2022

The Spartans are delighted to announce the launch of our exciting new initiative that will see closer links forged and stronger relationships built between our young players and the Men’s first team.

New Team Names:

The Spartans will be linking our youngest small sided team with a first team player.

2013 – 13s Allan (Michael Allan, Defender)

2014 – 14s Dishington (Jamie Dishington, Midfielder)

2015 – 15s Carswell (Blair Carswell, Goalkeeper)

Michael, Jamie and Blair have a long association with the Club and all 3 have progressed from the Youth Section to the First Team via the Player Pathway.  This journey will be a real inspiration for our young players and will visit team training sessions regularly.

Our senior players remain committed to being role models for our stars of the future

The first team players recently attended training to distribute the ‘One of the Team’ booklet to all the players.  The booklet is a handy guide to everything our players need to know about our first teams, the league they play in, who the managers are, and the players.

We hope it will give our players an insight into what goes on at their club that they might not know about.

We’re also delighted to relaunch our match day mascot opportunities. The first being the wonderfully enthusiastic and vocal 13s Dishington team who turned out in great numbers against Tranent earlier this month.
