Lowland League: Spartans head for the HoopsThe Spartans make a midweek trip to Airdrie’s Penny Cars Stadium where they take on Celtic B in the Lowland League. Dougie Samuel’s side, boosted by their much publicised win at Gretna will be looking to overcome the hurdle of the Hoops in the inaugural meeting of the teams in the Parkhead outfits season-long cameo. With Tuesday’s results offering the usual predictable unpredictability, a win against Tommy McIntyre’s side would see Spartans move into second place, setting up what is already shaping up to be one of the biggest games of the season against Bonnyrigg Rose this Saturday. However, as witnessed at the commencement of the campaign, the Youth outfits offer plenty pace and skill which will undoubtedly keep the Spartans defensive block on their toes throughout the ninety minutes. Indeed, such is the quality, the hosts note no fewer than 8 from the squad will be on International duty this week. The match on Wednesday kicks-off at 7.45pm. Tickets are priced at £8 for adults and £4 for under-16s and must be purchased online via the Airdrie website here https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/airdrieonians/ . These will be available right-up to kick-off time. There is a £2 fee on matchday for use of the Airdrie official car park.
