Les be having you! Under 20s kick-off campaign against BinosThe Spartans kick-off their Development League season against Stirling Albion on Friday evening at Ainslie Park (8pm KO). It’ll be the first competitive outing for Les Atkinson’s side since the 6th March 2020 when they defeated Blackburn 5-1 in the League however much has changed in terms of playing personnel over the last fourteen months. Pre-season so far has seen some exciting new talent make their way through the Academy Pathway ranks and Friday offers them a chance to put some positive friendly fixture game time into play against one of several new arrivals in the Development League this year. On the back of a 5-1 win over the tourists from Chelmsford, the Under 20s completed their pre-season programme with a nine goal thriller last week against Edinburgh United, with Atkinson’s young Spartan Army coming out on top 6-3 courtesy of braces from Ben Lamont and Blair Atkinson along with strikes from Aaron Cameron and Reece Mason. With very little intelligence available on the Stirling Albion side, it promises to be an interesting opener and you can watch for free at the Academy from 8.00pm. |
