Lowland League | Sammy’s Spartans under Borders orders to grab Gala win

Posted on Monday, October 26th, 2020

It’s back to Lowland League duty again on Tuesday night for Dougie Samuel’s Spartans as they head down to the Borders to take on Gala Fairydean Rovers.

With two wins out of the opening three league outings for the Ainslie Park side, they will be looking to build on last Friday’s Challenge Cup clean sheet against a Gala side who come into the fixture on the back of a 3-1 win over our North Edinburgh rivals Civil Service Strollers at the weekend.

Spartans head down the A7 without the services once again of the injured Ian McFarland whilst Adam Corbett & Mikey Allan serve their suspension following their recent transgressions against Stirling Uni. Alan Brown is set for a return to the squad whilst new signing Jamie Watson is likely to feature once again.

With both of Gala’s victories against Spartans under the watchful eye of the iconic Netherdale stand, Samuel will be out to ensure it’s no unwanted hat-trick and to get his men up the road with three valuable league campaign points.

We’ll being you live Twitter updates throughout the match so please do follow us at @spartansfc for the 7.45pm kick-off. Remember, under no circumstances should ANY fans travel to the game.
