The Spartans welcome East of Scotland Conference B side Kinnoull FC to Ainslie Park on Friday night in the opening round of this season’s newly sponsored Soccer Shop Direct Challenge Cup.

The sides met a round earlier in the same competition this time last season at a blustery Tulloch Park and a makeshift Spartans run out 0-3 victors in a game that witnessed a wondergoal from loanee Leeroy Makovora.

Despite their dismissals last weekend, both Adam Corbett and Mikey Allan are available for selection, whilst Aaron Murrell is back in contention for a place in Dougie Samuel’s line-up.

Meanwhile, it’s been a good start to the season for the visitors who have netted eight times in their opening two league games and have yet to concede.
