Spartans out to mastermind University challenge in League Cup

Posted on Friday, May 3rd, 2019

After their dramatic penalty shoot-out victory against Kelty Hearts last weekend, Dougie Samuel’s Spartans welcome Edinburgh University to Ainslie Park in the 2nd Round of the Lowland League Cup.

With a semi final against Cumbernauld Colts or East Stirlingshire on offer for the victors, Saturday’s clash between two old adversaries promises to be a tough battle as the side’s seek progression in the search for silverware.

The recently crowned University Challenge title winners will look to the tie as their starter for ten to end their season on a high whilst Samuel sets out to mastermind a win over his old club.

Spartans last lifted the trophy in 2017 after a 3-0 win over BSC Glasgow and a strong SpartanArmy support is vital to continue on the road to the Final.

Kick-off is at 3pm and will be played to a finish.  Admission £7 Adults, £4 Concessions, U16s FREE.
