P.T. Come Home… You may have spotted a man with some debonnaire facial hair back in the Ainslie Park ranks over the last couple of weeks.  Yup, Paul Thomson is back!  The talismanic Defender has returned to the club after some time out.

Scott Maxwell became the latest Spartans Centurion following his 100th appearance for the Club in last Friday’s Football Nation Cup Quarter Final victory over Tranent Juniors.

Our prize for progressing in the Football Nation Cup is a Semi Final tie against the winners of the delayed Penicuik Athletic or Stirling University match.  The draw offering some online banter between the lads and Craig Stevenson, who, if his side progressed, wouldn’t be playing due to being Cup Tied.

Willie Bremner has gone under the knife and we tweeted a pic of the Striker in his recovery moon boot recently following his successful operation.  We wish him all the best in his rehab and hope to see him back on the pitch next season.

The Under 20s continue to lead their Conference B table in the Development League and last Friday they swept aside Haddington Athletic u20s 1-7 on the road.  Les Atkinson’s side have now scored 54 goals and only conceded 7 in their twelve league games and sit top of the pile with 2 games in hand over 2nd place Stirling University.  The lads are back in action this Friday night against Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale at Ainslie Park at the slightly later time of 8.15pm.  Free entry as ever.

The Spartans Connections were in action at the weekend, with 4 teams taking part in the SFA Pan-Para National League competition at Little Kerse in Grangemouth.  A big thanks to Lothian Motorcoaches for their support and wheels!

Our SWPL 1 Women’s Team are in the midst of their Pre-Season fixtures, kicking off with a win against St Johnstone and a defeat to Hibs Ladies.  This coming Sunday its a breakfast shift when they take on Pitea IF DFF who play in the top flight in Sweden.  A 10am KO in a 3 x 20mins run out for all you early birds and it’s free entry.  Meanwhile, Goalkeeper Rachel Harrison has been in La Manga with the Scotland Squad in their Training Camp.

The Spartans Development team will play their league fixtures in SWFL Division One this season following a recent League Management Committee announcement.
