GeoSonic Lowland League: Spartans cross Forth keen to clip wings of Fife flyers

Posted on Friday, November 2nd, 2018

A new month and a renewed focus sees Spartans head across the Queensferry Crossing to the Kingdom where they face fellow business-end outfit Kelty Hearts in the GeoSonic Lowland League match of the day.

It’s top v third at New Central Park where a fascinating fixture looks set to unfold in Fife.

The new recruits to the league have had a positive start to their inaugural campaign and currently sit top of the tree whilst Dougie Samuel’s side will be looking to build on last week’s point earned against the predictably unpredictable Edusport Academy.

As one may have heard, Kelty have a new manager in town and he’s certainly no stranger to facing The Spartans.  Four years ago this weekend, Barry Ferguson’s Clyde came to Ainslie Park in the Scottish Cup.  A penalty double by Kevin Motion saw Spartans defeat the League 2 side in Round 3 of the trophy.  In the Spartans side that day was Errol Douglas who lines up for the hosts on Saturday.

This time round, the 45 times capped Scotland player is back in the dug out for his second game at the helm against the title holders who are looking to collect three points on the road and tuck right in behind the flying Fifers.

Kick-0ff is 3pm.  Admission: £7 Adults. £4 Concessions.
